This memory was shared by Heather Schmidt, who experienced a beautiful four-generation family moment right here in Surfside Beach.
Captain Sterling Grey:
Some moments don’t just pass through a family…
they weave themselves into the generations that follow.
This is one of those moments.
This past September was a glorious day for four generations of our family.
My daughter and granddaughter came from Boston, and my 91-year-old father flew in from Atlanta to meet his great-granddaughter for the very first time.
It was baby Sloane’s first plane ride… and her first time to the beach.
Yes — Surfside Beach was her very first beach ever.
She grabbed Great-Grandpa’s beard, met her uncle and Pa for the first time, and Memaw (me) couldn’t hold her enough.
We all had the best dinner at the Claw House and a walk on the boardwalk.
What a perfect memory.
